Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Camping
Did you know that you can park an RV at Balloon Fiesta? Talk about a fun way to really experience the festivities around the clock! With many different sites and price levels to choose from, your family will have many options for camping out at one of the most photographed events in the world!
We really enjoy spending a couple of nights of Balloon Fiesta on site with our camper. The kids really look forward to camping out in the city. They get a kick out of knowing we are sleeping just a couple of miles from our house and attending one of the biggest balloon events in the world!
Waking up to the sound of balloons floating right over your camper is spectacular and special. There is definitely a fan culture in the RV sections of Balloon Park, and the staff does a great job making everyone feel welcome. They have attendants who will help park your rig and answer any questions about hookups, etc. you may have. We enjoy having families over to tailgate before a night glow (and it is an extra mom plus to have your own restroom with you!) We have met people from all over the world who park an RV during Balloon Fiesta. Many have been coming back for years. Another benefit of staying on-site is that you may purchase one additional parking pass in addition to the pass they provide for your car with your reservation fee. This comes in extra handy when inviting friends out to tailgate.
There are different types of sites available from standard, to VIP, to President’s Compound. The President's Compound area is perched on a bluff overlooking the launch field and is a primo spot to watch the events. You cannot beat the close proximity to the launch field. A nice perk included in the President's Compound reservation is 4 passes to get into the launch field the entire duration of your stay (and you may also purchase an extra parking spot here as well). This is extra handy as you can come and go as you wish to purchase food or shop. This section fills up first and most weekends sell out.
Leashed pets are allowed in the camping areas and there are some grassy areas that are pet friendly. I have found the staff extremely friendly and helpful when making my reservation and are always able to answer any questions I may have. We all really love this “staycation” sidetrack each fall! See our Balloon Fiesta Sidetrack for more detailed information about the events at The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
